Project Rainbow, June 2020, 48" x 16", Mixed Midea; Ink Drawing and Digital background
Over a few mouths I was working on a collaborative project with a friend. They are writing a fantasy book series and I helped by drawing the main characters! They are holding up LGBTQ+ flags that represent their sexual orientation. The Author wanted to have the images come out for Pride Month which is in June.
The book series is called Breach of Darkness and book one is Frozen Flame, written by Sara TK Fehr. Available on Amazon. And here is the Authors website for your convenience, http://www.saratkfehr.ca/. The Author allowed the characters personal relationships to evolve naturally throughout the series and has stated that the characters have taken on a life of their own and are now doing things that were never originally planned on!
Miri has the red background, and she is holding a LGBTQ+ flag, this flag means straight but an ally. The flag was created so that anyone could participate in the gay pride parades! Amri has the orange background, and she is standing in front of a flag that represents people who are bisexual. Arze has the yellow background, and he is dancing on a flagpole, this flag means male gay. It was created quite a while after a lesbian flag came out. Ezra has the green background, and she is also dancing on a flagpole, this flag represents lesbians, there are actually a few different types of lesbian flags but this one was the easiest to do with ink. Browen has the blue background, and he is holing a flag that means bisexual, you may notice someone else in the group with the same flag. Ralis has the purple background, and they are holding a flag that means pansexual. |
